Enjoy the original Doom3 / RoE campaign (or any custom map) with reworked and more convincing weaponry. This mod changes all weapons to be more realistic. Weapon definitions, weapon scripts and weapon sounds have been changed. Doom 3 weapon sounds have been replaced with sounds from real guns. (HK USP 45, 12 gauge shotgun, 10 gauge shotgun, FN P90, frag grenade)This mod does not alter the game's weapon balance or difficulty level. Creating this mod took more than 95 hours. Includes a target range map for weapon familiarisation. Main changes in v10:General changes:-new screen position for most guns.
I thought I wouldn't like the pistol's flashlight but once I played it, it is actually useful and adds to the atmosphere, the pistol's flashlight range is not that wide so you will want to use the normal flashlight for exploration, and the pistol for visibility during combatOne thing i didn't like though is the volume of the weapons, i mean, yeah it feels better that they are louder but they don't mix well with the ambient, don't get me wrong i like the sounds (except the machinegun) but they are too loud!+1 vote.
DescriptionAt heart this mod package is a tribute to 'Redux 0.95b', a supreme work in bringing back of the old vanilla Doom3. Only making own mod package I realized how fine the 'Redux 0.95b' implementations are. Nonetheless, once the gathering of the mods was started, I recognized there is a chance to give this pack a distinct tweak, mainly due to the 'Realistic weapons' inclusion.
This mod contains a complete redesign of the basic weapons. Download Doom 3 BFG. Aug 21, 2017 The various barrels and orange crates found throughout Doom 3's expansions can also be used as weapons thanks to the.
Pity the 'Venom 6th Main Menu' ultimately appeared flawed with lack of responding to selection of difficulty levels pre-game, therefore I decided to use the old menu with upgraded assets. One of the primary assumptions to this mod package has also been the full Resurrection of Evil expansion pack compatibility, which I hope is fulfilled.
InstallationIt is a mod package addressed towards the original Doom3 version 1.3.1 for Windows and the corresponding Resurrection of Evil release. To install, clear your 'Doom3base' directory from any previous mods. In case you have Resurrection of Evil expansion pack, remove the existing mods from 'Doom3d3xp' folder, if there are any. After that, simply copy the downloaded and extracted contents of 'base' folder into your 'Doom3base' directory, as well as the obtained contents of 'd3xp' folder into your 'Doom3d3xp' root. In the 'base' folder you should see eleven new '.PK4' files named specifically to maintain the necessary order. In the 'd3xp' folder, there should be two such '.PK4' files altogether.Apart from the '.PK4' files, there are 'DoomConfig' and 'Autoexec' textfiles in both the extracted 'base' and 'd3xp' folders. It is crucial you copy both these pairs of textfiles into their matching Doom3 folders of yours. They contain vital configurations.
PersonalizationUnfortunately the original Doom3 options menu is good only for setting the control keys presently and maybe some few gameplay options, since most other functions - notably the graphical settings - are irresponsive and better be left alone as they are, lest the beneficial manual configs get spoiled. Best results can be achieved through manual and aware intervention directly into gamefiles, that is primarily the 'Autoexec'. Therefore, to fine tune your game, you will need to enter the 'Autoexec' through Windows Notepad program - separately for Doom3 and Resurrection of Evil - and make sure certain values match the specifications of your machine. Your main help in the personalization process is the DirectX system diagnosis, which you access typing in your Windows search/run bar: 'DXdiag' without quotemarks, then enter. Detailed info on tweaking the game can be found in 'Autoexec' files included in the provided downloadable.ZIP archive.'
Autoexec' files for both the original Doom3 and the corresponding Resurrection of Evil are the same, thus you may copy one onto another after finishing the personalization of any. Mind yet the 'DoomConfig' files differ for the maingame and the expansion pack, therefore skip this trick in that case. For your information, 'Autoexec' overrides 'DoomConfig' and valid settings brought in to 'Autoexec' will automatically be written in 'DoomConfig' once the game is launched. In case of experiencing graphical struggling, lower or turn down the 'seta rmultiSamples' parameter and bring the 'seta imagelodbias' value up on the scale. If still the result is unsatisfactory, lower or turn down the 'seta imageanisotropy'. The last remedy - or sometimes the primary one - is to delete the 'z01hdtextures' file.
If performance struggle persists, delete two other files marked as 'HD' contents, which are 'z02' and 'z03'. If you get rid of the HD textures, try to bring the general settings quality up again. If you have a game version running other language than English, you may want to delete the 'z07audiologsredux' file, otherwise suffer incompatibilities. Mind also to change the language of operation in your 'DoomConfig' file - for that matter, search and modify the 'seta syslang' parameter with language name. Another dark secret to mod placement: if you put any.PK4 archive into your 'Doom3base' folder or 'Doom3d3xp' directory - the latter one exclusively for Resurrection of Evil - the contents of the new archive are going to get priority over the exactly matching data of any previous archives or original gamefiles, according to the order of the files in given folder by the criterium of filename.
That is why consistency is important, to check whether the supplementary installment - such as 'Parallax 2.0' - does contain any additional data that could overwrite the existing one beyond what is wanted and expected, in which case for example lower quality textures would gain advantage over higher quality ones. I can hopefully guarantee the consistency of fileset provided within Consumerist pack, although adding to it any external contents without proper care may handicap the resultant outcome. In doubt, place the external assets as primary file, before the Consumerist pack ones but after the original game archives, so that accidental nonexclusive data - possibly spoiling the integrity of the pack - gets overwritten, unless aimed otherwise.EDIT:There is more to it, which sums up to maintaining the filename and folder structure within the archive, as the game engine must have instructions on where, when and how to use given file, with majority of mods basing on already existing instructions, just overwriting the contents to be used. Finetuning the graphical settingsOnce you have properly typed into your 'Autoexec' the (.1) screen display rate, (2.) monitor display refresh rate, (3.) default display width and height, as well as (4.) videoRAM - as given by the 'DXdiag' function - now it is time to find out what settings do you justice.
Certainly we aim for stable at least 30-40 frames per second. Mind the 'SwapInterval' parameter - the VSync - regulates the top threshold FPS rate at value matching your monitor display refresh. What are the primary advantages of this pack?1. Realistic weapons mod v102.
Base Doom3 and Resurrection of Evil support3. Lack of particular issues regarding graphics compatibility4.
Blood splatter, brass and decals practically stay until you finish the level5. Nice enemy AI - Imps dance much better now6.
Transparent instructions on manual game configuration in a tidy structured 'Autoexec' file7. HD textures and models8. Launches directly from the game basefolders - friendly to the STEAM launcher9. Files easy to spot - delete/uninstall whenever you want.
Consider making backup of your original 'Autoexec' and 'DoomConfig' files, even though doubtful you would need them in the initial form thereafter. Mind the old saves will cease to respond once game definitions change. What is in it?Next to the promised 'Autoexec' I included certain files from the initial Consumerist ModPack, which I think expand on the original Doom3, enriching it. The only content changing the gameplay - the way the game flows - is the 'Realistic weapons v10' mod, which I highly recommend, nonetheless you may delete it if you wish to, it is the 'z08weapons' file in the 'base' folder and 'z02guns' file in the 'd3xp' folder, the latter one for Resurrection of Evil. In case you are going to use the 'Realistic weapons', mind the grenades and chainsaw are toggable, next to soulcube and flashlight.
The graphical enhancements are skipped, making the download very handable.' Autoexec' works both for basic Doom3 and Resurrection of Evil.
Take a look at some options included in the file - in case they are defined there, you will need to tweak them exactly in the file to have it your way, since 'Autoexec' will force the contained definitions each time the game starts, thus menu will help little in that regard. Due to expiry date on uploads and fatigue with putting - as well as downloading - heavy files, I will try to keep the 'Lite' version up for download, providing the full version only per request. Alternatively, you can build up your own full version of the modpack, just get the 'Lite' version and separately download the quality visual enhancements, minding to name the tertiary visual enhancement files starting with 'z01', 'z02' and 'z03', which will place them after the original gamedata files but before the 'Lite Pack' ones, securing the proper outcome.
I thought MODdb is for creators, people offering new contents, instead of just compilers. There is very little novelty in this modpackage I offer.
The only real valuable thing is the 'Autoexec' transparently presented and the reminder of how good the 'Realistic weapons v10' mod is, accompanied by some tertiary effects improvements. If you are THE Phrozo, we can make a deal, I will just handle to you the materials I consider 'official' on my part, you can upgrade them or whatever and just post on MODdb, crediting the original Doom3 STEAM forum community. Originally posted by:I will give the 'Perfected Doom3' a further try hopefully if the time allows, but when it comes to my taste, I like to keep things simple; in the end, the 'Consumerist Pack' is a complement to the original game instead of an overhaul.Well that's the cool thing too about PD3. It still definitely feels like Doom 3. I think the only problem with it is that the enemies perhaps do a little too much damage. But the weapons are so powerful and the weapon functionality you have at your disposal is so impressive that it's not much of a problem if you're smart. Just don't expect to be charging in here, Doom 4 style.
